Design and Aesthetics
Pivot doors will define and separate areas, but the difference is in their design and aesthetics. With specialist design these doors can be set within recesses to appear as part of the walls, and the hinge-free design gives a clean flush look to the door. Available in larger sizes with or without hardware, Clark pivot doors are factory finished in a huge variety of colours or can be site clad in wood veneers to provide a contemporary addition to a building’s design.
Wide spanning without a central mullion or post to reduce a door’s clear opening width, Clark pivot doors make efficient use of valuable space in corridors and tunnels. Custom designed to your specification to a maximum width of 2.7m or a maximum height of 3.0m for a single leaf door. Double leaf doors are also available without a centre post and in a maximum size of 4.8m wide and 2.8m high, providing optimum corridor size for heavy pedestrian traffic areas such as underground tube stations. Also used as life-saving lift lobby doors. Clark pivot doors are delivered as complete assemblies including frames and self-closing operation in the event of a fire alarm signal.
The standard finish consists of a factory applied polyester powder coat paint, in your choice of RAL colours; eliminating the time and labour of in-field priming and painting. Powder coating creates a hard finish that is tougher than conventional paint. A marine paint spec is also available on request, E.G for coastal locations.
Where speciality finishes are important to the architectural design vision, the Clark Door design team will work with you to coordinate veneer, cladding or other finishes for example, helping match facades to achieve the desired end result for your custom pivot door.
We have significant experience of working with our customers to provide unrivalled fire certification for large sized doors that dimensionally cannot be furnace tested. We have been listed under LPS 1271 for fire door installation by BRE for over 25 years, giving our customers peace of mind when Clark Door provide a fire rated solution.
