On 21st May 2025, Clark Door Ltd had the privilege of participating in the annual Work Ready Day at James Rennie School in Carlisle. The school, located on California Road in the Kingstown area, is a highly regarded institution that provides specialist education for students aged 3–19 with unique learning needs.
Work Ready Day is a key event that brings together local businesses to offer interactive experiences, giving students the opportunity to learn about various career paths in a hands-on and engaging environment.

Representing Clark Door Ltd were Josh Brough, Site Service Planner, and Layla Marks, Marketing & Communications Officer. Our display featured a sensory board showcasing a variety of door components such as handles, locks, and electrical parts, allowing students to explore the textures, shapes, and functions of items used in the manufacturing process.
The stall also included a toolbox, tool bench, hard hats, and hi-vis jackets, giving students the chance to dress up and immerse themselves in a simulated work environment. This engaging setup enabled the children to better understand the tools and equipment commonly found in the industry.

Reflecting on the event, Josh Brough, whose child attends James Rennie School, shared his thoughts:
“Visiting James Rennie School to demonstrate what Clark Door does was an incredible experience. It was heartwarming to see that every child wanted to be involved and have fun regardless of their circumstances. The children loved fixing door parts to the board, allowing them to observe and touch different components and tools used in our products.”
Clark Door was honoured to take part in this meaningful initiative and values the opportunity to help inspire the next generation. Events such as Work Ready Day provide invaluable experiences for students, helping them explore the diverse range of career opportunities available in the Carlisle area and beyond.
